Workshops/Self-help Training – planned educational activities to
increase member’s ability to obtain employment; i.e., job search skills
training, interviewing, resume writing and mock interviews.

Support Groups – two or more people who meet to discuss common problems
and share experiences. A once a month or bi-monthly (as needed) group meeting
in a structured assembly is essential in this group.

Meetings – a structured assembly to orient, motivate and inform
members. Invite guest speakers to talk on work force related and
emotional support topics.

Networking – an unstructured assemblage to share job information.

Resources – defined meeting space, working space, computer/printer,
telephone, fax machine, photocopying machine for copying employment reference
materials.

Resource Room – a location where resources are used by PPN members or
other interested customers.

Information and Referral – available resources in the community for
counseling and supportive services.

Resume Matching – a systematic effort to match a member’s skills and
abilities with the employer’s job order qualification.

Resume Critiquing – assessment of resume in order to identify
transferable and marketable skills and abilities that translate to new or
alternative career opportunities.
